This work fuses classical art and modern pop art in a bold collage. At the center, Warhol’s portrait of Mao is topped with speech bubbles by Lichtenstein. In the background, Raphael’s Triumph of Galatea. The striking contrast between the contemporary style of the foreground and the subtlety of the background underscores the tensions between tradition and modernity. The inscribed words challenge conventional authority, choosing humour and irony to evoke deeper themes. This work exemplifies social critique through visual art, prompting the viewer to reflect on power figures and cultural impact. It is distinguished by its boldness and seamless integration of two distinct artistic eras.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage. Her analog compositions combine acrylic paint and oil paint, original illustrations dating from 1900 till today and three dimensional recycled components. The works, influenced by pop art, dadaism and surrealism, show originality and freshness.
