Against the backdrop of ‘Apocalypse Now’ by Christopher Wool, a dynamic textual background, stands a black and white woman, dressed in a retro bra. The upper part of his face is covered with Warhol’s bright pink ‘Mao’ shirt, introducing a stark contrast. The marriage of these elements produces a subtle critique of popular culture and the perception of the feminine. The composition questions the role of the media and consumer society, while remaining open to personal interpretations, and insists on a critical approach to the feminine image.

About the artist
