This intriguing work features a silhouette of a man wearing a dark coat, evoking a unique blend of surrealism and modern collage. Instead of a face, a conical dessert, named ‘Le Parfait au Cafe’, sits atop a plate, giving the figure a dimension that is both absurd and poetic. A scarf with natural motifs wraps around his neck, adding a dynamic and colourful touch that contrasts harmoniously with the serene blue background. This compositional choice defies artistic conventions and surprises the viewer, prompting reflection on identity and perception. The bold use of redefined everyday objects highlights the artist’s creativity and conceptual depth. This piece becomes a powerful visual statement, merging humour and introspection.

The Parfait au Café was part of the ‘Étrange’ solo exhibition at the Theatre de l’Esplanade in Draguignan, France in January 2025.

The Parfait au Café is a mixed media composition on canvas featuring a transfer collage based of the paper collage ‘Valentine 9’ from 2019.
Transfer collage,  acrylic and oil paint.

The artwork is signed, varnished and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
