‘Les Regards 3’ is a mixed media composition on canvas.
The work is an enlargement of Two-elements brut collage on paper ( For Your Eyes Only 20) representing Josette Day (bottom) and an anonymous young woman (top).
All images are from authentic vintage magazines.
The detail of Josette Day’s portrait is from ‘Paris Cinéma’Nr. 76, 1947 for the film ’ La Révoltée’.
The ‘Regards’ series is produced with techniques that make each composition unique and original.
The original collage is mirrored, enlarged and printed, then transferred onto canvas and finished with oil paint and pastels.
Torn paper is added to the composition, this paper is from French ‘Illustration’ Magazines dating 1914-1917.
The aged and worn paper adds to the nostalgic aspect of the portraits.
