I paint the Polarstern
Having been a shipbuilder and ship designer I naturally was the one to paint an image of our temporary home and place of work leaving Germany. In this image you can see how initial layers of paint were built over in transparent and opaque colours to produce in the end (3 1/2 weeks later) a complex interconnected whole.

About the artist
I am a painter of northern landscapes and of the sea. I'm an established artist in the north of England but I'm also known more widely with for example my TV participation in the SKY Portrait Artist of the Year competition.
