Let the fun begin!
The Chief Scientist, Prof Karen Wiltshire and myself start painting the mural with a small group of curious onlookers. Karen started with a great swirling outburst of hot colour which she said represented both the centrality of the sun’s energy to life in the ocean but also her feelings of joy that her first major expedition as leader had finally begun.

I am a painter of northern landscapes and of the sea. I'm an established artist in the north of England but I'm also known more widely with for example my TV participation in the SKY Portrait Artist of the Year competition.
