Planned Crossing

A ghost image of a planned 19th century railway viaduct spans the river South Tyne near Tynehead above where a fellside track crosses the river. This is a kind of memory painting based on the knowledge I have built exploring this landscape over many years. The drama of light dominates the valley. My sense of place constantly shifts with the weather and light. Nothing is fixed, the past, the present, the future - not even the painting.
The frame is a floating design painted and varnished dark brown.
