Portrait commission to mark John turning 18. I took a flight with him and his flying instructor in a 4 seater Piper Cherokee at Newcastle Airport so I had a very good sense of his enthusiasm for flying. He’s dressed in a beautiful lying jacket and on the ground is a briefcase that was given to him by a pilot that he admired. In the painting he’s on a kind of infinite runway with the Piper on the airfield and jet contrails in the sky.
