Lambley Viaduct and Featherstone Castle
The client had lived at Featherstone Castle during the war and knew the viaduct over the river South Tyne. I went to the location with a good view of the castle and viaduct and several occasions to get the right light and weather for drawings and photos then designed two compositions based on these which I sent to the client. I then proceeded to make two different paintings from which he chose his favourite.
