This work merges photography and collage to create an enigmatic and emotive silhouette. Dominated by the juxtaposition of two bodily fragments, the piece presents a fragmented female figure in a dramatic pose that appears to be in motion, evoking a dynamic of energy and tension. A detail from a photograph by Charles Stewart from his reportage “Harlem Nudes,” depicting a Black dancer, contrasts with the other detail of a woman: a 1970s model in a vibrant red-orange drape.
