Columbia 4

Columbia 4
September 2025
My last commission in 2025, was for the Hotel Columbia in Berlin. I proposed a series of sketches on the theme of Berlin. Four of them were selected and created as transfer collages with oil paint and pastels. The four original artworks, each 100 x 100 cm will be displayed in the hotel lounge, while reproductions will be on view in the rooms. The Hotel Columbia will reopen sOOn and photos on site will follow!!!
‘Columbia 4’ represents the Miss Columbia, mixed with a Bauhaus background and German Manifesto graphic art.
Miss Columbia, the Wright-Bellanca WB-2, was a high wing monoplane aircraft designed by Giuseppe Mario Bellanca, initially for Wright Aeronautical then later Columbia Aircraft Corp.
On June 4, 1927, The Columbia took off on its transatlantic flight from America to Berlin, Germany, with Charles Levine as the first passenger to cross the Atlantic in an airplane, and making Columbia the third plane to fly non-stop across the Atlantic.
Canvas 100 x 100 x 4 cm.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage. Her analog compositions combine acrylic paint and oil paint, original illustrations dating from 1900 till today and three dimensional recycled components. The works, influenced by pop art, dadaism and surrealism, show originality and freshness.
