The Rose Series is a surreal series of
mixed media compositions in which the roses reinforce the mouvement and the romantic aspect of the subjects.
On a background filled with colourful roses a couple seem to be engaged in a kiss.
The roses colourfully mark the mouvement in this romantic work and suggests the facial expressions.
The images are original cut outs from 1960’s and 1970’s vintage magazines.
The image of the man and woman was originally for a beer publicity, where a blindfolded couple taste from the same glass.
Mixed media composition on 30x30 cm canvas board.
Acrylic paint, paper.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage. Her analog compositions combine acrylic paint and oil paint, original illustrations dating from 1900 till today and three dimensional recycled components.
