‘Love is Blind 4’ is a paper on canvas collage, measuring 20x20 cm.
The surrealistic composition is built up from two elements.
The collage shows a black and white photo of a glamorous couple of which the eyes and top part of the face are replaced by a lit arrow.
The vintage couple are film stars Alan Ladd and Lizabeth Scott for the Paramount film ‘Red Mountain’, a 1951 Western historical film set in the last days of the US Civil War.
The image is a cut out from a fifties French film magazine.
The background image is a detail of an illustration of Robert Rauschenberg’s assemblage: “Soaring Dribble Glut”.
The elements contrast and complement each other.
As a result the objects seem to give the couple their expression.
Paper collage, signed, varnished and delivered with a certificat of authenticity.
