Collage Brut is a series of non polished paper on paper collages. It refers to ‘Art Brut’, “raw art” or “rough art”.
In this series, vintage paper is roughly cut or torn, elements are loosely glued to worn sheet of paper.
This paper is from an old edition of ‘Scenes from Shakespeare for the Youth’, measuring 44,5 x 31,5 cm (17,5 inch x 12,5 inch).
Compositions in this series are built up with only one, two or maximum three elements.
The elements compliment or contrast each other, making the composition surreal.
The Collage Brut compositions come from the soul and aim to open questions and emotions for the viewer.
The artworks are varnished and signed on the back, delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage. Her analog compositions combine acrylic paint and oil paint, original illustrations dating from 1900 till today and three dimensional recycled components. The works, influenced by pop art, dadaism and surrealism, show originality and freshness.
