The Rampage of Desmond

This painting was based on a sketch I made above the A66 byepass bridge at Keswick in the English lake District. After Storm Desmond flooded this area in 2015 (and most of the Lake District and Cumbria) I modified the painting to raise the river level to the top of the old pack horse bridge which you can see at the bottom of the painting. Despite having an enormous arch it nearly got swept away such was the power of the water. This painting is ready to hang unframed with edges painted a dull yellowish green like the mountains.
