Culture Clash 2

Culture Clash 2
June 2025
This work fuses classical and pop art with a touch of surrealism. In the center, Andy Warhol’s portrait of Elizabeth Taylor is partially obscured by the word “HURRAH!” in vibrant yellow and red letters. The background, Wasiti’s work celebrating the end of Ramadan, adorned with Arabic script and cultural motifs, provides a rich and diverse context. The integration of traditional elements with modern forms questions cultural identities and contemporary perceptions. The work evokes an ambiguous celebration, both ironic and jubilant, challenging the viewer to consider the role of myths in our contemporary society.
