The Rose Series is a surreal series of
mixed media compositions in which the roses reinforce the mouvement and the romantic aspect of the subjects.
On a grey background floats a faceless young woman holding a bouquet.
The image is in black and white.
The pink and yellow roses colourfully mark the mouvement in this work and suggests the facial expressions.
The images are original cut outs from 1960’s and 1970’s vintage magazines.

About the artist
Of all forms of art, Marian prefers to express herself through collage. Her analog compositions combine acrylic paint and oil paint, original illustrations dating from 1900 till today and three dimensional recycled components.
