From the Marilyn Bill Board Series.
A fragment of Bert Stern’s photo of Marilyn Monroe from the “Last Sitting” is the base of this series.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s portrait series, each work is based on one and the same image. Unlike screen-print, the Bill Board series is produced with reproduction techniques that make each composition unique and original.
Rough lines and torn edges, remind the viewer of a worn vintage bill board, yet the overall impression is tranquil and soft.
Compositions in Yellow and Blue 2 was first showed at the art show Retro Fantastic at the Dutch Design Hotel in Amsterdam in 2019 in a series of 4.
For Retro Fantastic, I worked on the theme of the fantastic 50s and 60s.
Compositions in Yellow and Blue 2 is a mixed media composition on canvas.
Acrylic paint, transfer collage, pastels.
The artwork is signed, varnished and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
Box framing is optional.

About the artist
