The top half of Mitchum’s face seems to be wiped off.
Colourful, romantic and bright, the artwork is at the same time absurd and surreal.
All images are authentic cut outs from vintage magazines.
Robert Mitchum’s portrait is from a fifties French magazine; Cinemonde.
Collage Brut is a series of non polished paper on paper collages. It refers to ‘Art Brut’.
In this series, vintage paper is roughly cut or torn, elements are loosely glued to worn sheet of paper.
This paper is from an old edition of ‘Scenes from Shakespeare for the Youth’, measuring 44,5 x 31,5 cm (17,5 inch x 12,5 inch).
The artworks are varnished and signed on the back, delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
