Green Woodpecker

For a number of years this beautiful bird would come into our garden to eat the many ants that lived in the ‘lawn’. This is therefore a bit of a nostalgic painting created using photographs as a reference - I still hear a green woodpecker occasionally, but they do not visit any more.
