'Station'

My inspiration for this triptych derived from the experience of commuting via train to London, and the atmosphere in the train station as crowds rushed through. The use of three panels to unfold a narrative is inspired by Japanese scroll paintings. The abstract elements within this piece reference the digital, with tiny squares floating on the surface like pixels in photographic footage. The somewhat Dystopian scene is inspired by reflections on how we inhabit and move through public spaces, the psychogeography of urban environments, interconnection and disconnection.
