Tuscanara belongs to a series of paintings made from memory and imagination — places I never quite reached. This one recalls a journey through Tuscany, when my train briefly stopped at San Gimignano. I remember thinking I should get off and wander, but I didn’t — a small hesitation that has stayed with me.
Painted in acrylic on sandpaper, the surface gives the work a soft grain and glow, echoing the warmth of remembered light. The piece reflects on missed chances, half-remembered landscapes, and the quiet poetry of places left unseen, where memory completes what experience did not.
