Distant Valley

I have been enjoying my painting trips to Hassocks, West Sussex recently. A 15 minutes train journey from Brighton and an enjoyable walk from the Hassocks Station up to the Wolstonbury Hills then you will reach this absolutely blissful view of the South Downs! Over the time I have developed an intriguing fascination towards the distant sight of this particular church surrounded with vibrant shades of green in the spring and summer. The sketch I did for this composition was an early autumn day though. It was a special day and to my surprise there was a skylark flying above me with its distinctive call!  I hope it triggers some adorable memories to you.
