Brown Pelican

Brown pelicans have one of the largest wingspans of any bird, and that is why I wanted to paint one.  People who don’t know pelicans may be drawn to the white pelican, but the colours in the brown are far more interesting, and he was a joy to paint.  After painting a series of birds, it’s hard not to be drawn to the artist Audubon, and one of his most famous birds; the white pelican, which is another reason for painting a brown one!
