Garden Bench with Dog Sculptures (front)

The client wanted a garden bench memorial for 2 deceased dogs.
The challenge posed by the poor condition of the 5 blocks of stone is what chiefly dictated the final design : I had to remove damaged areas of the stone blocks and then create shape from the remnants.
The images of the dogs are very stylised representations of the deceased animals.

The stones used for this piece were rescued from a local stonemason company’s skip
