1943

A memorial to the 41 men, women and children who lost their lives on the day tht the Luftwaffe came to town (Reading) in 1943. All those who died in that catastrophe are to be portrayed in this in the round sculpture. They are represented at the point at which their spirits emerge from the carnage and architectural debris. They are all looking towards the sister sculpture which represents the young men who murdered them. But which figure displays forgiveness in their expression, and which exhibits blame or hatred ?
