“Dangerous work, Heading Home”

…During the eighties I used to visit Seaham Harbour (still do) and at that time you could walk around the harbour where the fishing boats were tied up all along each jetty wall. There was quite a sizeable fishing fleet and I got many drawings at the time. On one occasion I was asked by the skipper of one boat who was preparing to sail if I’d like to go out with him. I politely declined. I actually felt seasick just watching them bob up and down while they were tied up. The harbour now has about two or three fishing boats left and is now a marina for pleasure boats. It hasn’t got the same feel it used to have…
