The Tooth Fairy

The Tooth Fairy
As a young child, growing up meant we went through changes and losing baby teeth was one of them, which, I’m sure was a bit frightening so I suppose that the tale of the tooth fairy was meant to lessen the fear of what was happening. Our mam would tell us that once the tooth came out we had to keep it and then put it under our pillow at night and when we woke up there would be some money as the tooth fairy always paid for them. So the next morning there would be a thru’penny piece or a tanner, if we were lucky. It made things very bearable and we actually looked forward to our teeth dropping out.
