‘The Fascism of Pregnancy’

The Dialogue series is an archive of videos that spanned a thirteenth month period. It contains up to nine documents filmed in my family house in Greece. With a non intentional reference to Plato’s Symposium, all conversations take place around the dinner table, during meals or shortly after. The material is filmed using a passive style with the camera statically positioned, evoking a still framing of the space. The camera appears as hidden or overlooked by the participants at all times. There is no editing. The conversations are in Greek, with English subtitles.
