About
Drusilla Cole

Based in Bishops Castle, United Kingdom. member for 14 Years

For over twenty five years, I taught as a Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts, London. Since taking early retirement and moving to Shropshire, I have enjoyed revisiting all sorts of printmaking techniques. Currently I am using reduction linocut techniques to portray intriguing images based on my own photographs and drawings. I sometimes use caustic soda to enrich areas of the prints.
In 2014, I had two large linocuts accepted for two of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Biennial Printmaking Exhibitions. I also had a piece of work accepted for the National Original Print Exhibition at the Bankside Gallery, London. In addition one of my large linocuts was chosen as a finalist in the National Open Art Competition and shown at the Somerset House Gallery, London and the Minerva Gallery, Chichester.
Also in 2014, three new linocuts were especially commissioned by Wetherspoons for display in their new venue in the Bloxwich Showman, Bloxwich.
Occasionally I run printmaking workshops in my studio in Bishops Castle and for local colleges and art groups.
