Douwe Dabbert and the Bubble Dragon

Peter CA de Jong has assembled an archive of drawings of the Dutch comic character Douwe Dabbert character by nearly 400 illustrators.
The friendly ‘bubble dragon’ in this drawing was one I had done a sketch of a few years ago (inspired by the Rococo stucco work of Antonio Bossi).
The engraverly style of this drawing is inspired by the great 19th Century French illustrator J.J. Grandville, specifically the book ‘Un Autre Monde’.
