All The Festivals I Never Visited
By tim smith

I’ve never actually been to a festival but love the atmosphere of a summer night filled with music, light, and possibility. This painting explores that imagined space: the romance of a warm evening, the energy of an event that stays in your mind long after it’s over, and that fleeting sense that something extraordinary — even love — might happen.
For me, it’s less about the literal experience and more about the feeling of anticipation and connection that festivals represent. It’s a memory of something I’ve never lived, but somehow know — a kind of collective nostalgia for summer nights that belong to everyone.
The painting is presented in a simple natural aged oak flat frame, just 0.5 cm wide, which gives it a clean, understated finish. The edges of the canvas are also neatly painted, allowing it to be displayed unframed if preferred. It comes ready to hang with supplied wire.

About the artist
Tim's work is driven by a fascination with the changing world, contemporary culture and the history of art. These are often mixed together in what he wants to be a spontaneous blend of images rich in cultural references, held together by passages of pure painting and lyrical colour in a "new representationalism"
