Croft Beside the Burn

A solitary croft sits quietly in a wide, open glen, its whitewashed walls and dark roof huddled beneath a vast sky. Snow dusts the surrounding hills, their gentle slopes fading into mist like memories half-remembered. In the foreground, a narrow burn winds its way toward the viewer, threading through tufts of golden grasses and small stones.  The land feels both exposed and embraced, echoing with silence, history, and the presence of something once lived and still lingering.
