Fishing Bear

A commission for a private ‘Indian Medicine’ themed garden.
Unusually for me I was obliged to produce an animal sculpture without a live (nor even a dead) model for reference. I was unable to find a British zoo with a grisly bear inmate. Fortunately the fish counter at my local superstore was able to supply the fishy model.
It was interesting to learn about the Shoshone tribe symbols, that you can see carved into the arc over the bear.
New stone used.
