Antibes harbour in morning sun

The stunning harbour at Antibes with the castle and mountains in the background.  I visited the famous town while staying in Nice recently, one of few tourists on a calm spring morning. The yachts seem to wait in anticipation for the season to begin and soon the place will be bustling with visitors by land and sea. I walked around the harbour wall to the lighthouse to take in the views. I was inspired to paint the yachts and their reflections in the clear blue water with the sunlit castle behind. I loved to paint the layers of blues in the water and the snow capped purple mountains beyond.
The locals played boules nearby while I sketched and photographed the boats.
