Some might take issue with the title of the painting and point to late period George Best, Trevor Hockey, Danny McGrain, Frank Lampard (original recipe) and Socrates. Or even that bloody weird mess David Beckham wore a few years back. However, Mellberg’s effort perfectly sums up the ever so slightly ironic nature of the modern football chin rug.
