Vaillant has been described by the BBC as an artist with an immense talent and strength for formatting colour.
Commissioned by the BBC to record Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Pageant, Vaillant created an epic scene in 2012.
Colour is applied with force using a palette knife. Once the paint is applied to the surface, the knife returns just as quick, striking through, creating a sculptural recording of colour resonating in its pureness.
The painting “Praise” acquired by Liverpool Cathedral joins other artists Elisabeth Frink, Adrian Wiszniewski, Tracey Emin, Christopher Le Brun and others.
2013 Peter Vaillant exhibited one painting alongside David Hockney at the Pump House Gallery London.
Now creating a new body of work for a major show in 2018
