Phil Entwistle’s contemporary landscape paintings have a distinct geological interest. His subjects are crags, quarries, coastal cliffs and rocky shorelines of the UK, particularly in his native North of England. He paints on either canvas or aluminium, at a variety of scales.
His aim is to see how physical processes generate the variety of form, colour and texture we see in the landscape.
