In this document when we refer to “we” or “us”, “ArtWeb” we are referring to our company Artweb LLC, which processes and also controls some of the the information collected about/from you. We run a website builder service, and gallery of our users artwork on Artweb.com. In addition we have a number of websites relating to these services for example our blog and support system. We refer to all these websites and services as “Services” in this document. For the website that we host and that you create using our services, we refer to this as “Your Website”

What information do we collect about you?

In order to provide you with our Services we collect data that you give to us along with data collected automatically by our systems and data provided by third parties. We collect data from you on the lawful basis of a contract (i.e. to fulfill our contract to provide Services to you), and in some cases by consent (e.g. you choosing to also be on our mailing list).

Account and profile information

When you create an account with ArtWeb, modify your profile, set preferences, sign-up you provide us with certain personal information like your name, email address, address and contact details, links to social media accounts and a profile image. In addition you may also provide us with some info your public bio.

Information you provide whilst using our services

Whilst using ArtWeb’s services you provide us with data and image files that are hosted publicly on Your Website and ArtWeb profile. For example this could include images of your artwork, descriptions of your individual artworks, contact information to display and payment terms for buyers.

Information you provide through our support channels

When you experience problems using our Services you can contact us via our support channels, which include email and via a contact form on Your Website control panel.

You will be asked to provide any relevant information to help us solve your problem, which can include contact information, a description of the problem, screenshots or any other information that would be helpful in resolving the issue.

We keep track of the urls you visit and certain actions you perform whilst using our Services

Device and Connection Information

We collect information about your computer, mobile device, tablet, or other devices you use to access our Services. This information includes, connection type, operating system, browser type, IP address, URLs of referring/exit pages. We keep track of IP addresses as a security measure and in order to approximate your location whilst using our services, for example to automatically set currency preferences.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We set cookies in your website browser for login authentication, certain personalisation of our Services like currency and language preferences. In addition we use the third party cookie based tracking technology, Google Analytics in order to collect and aggregate website visitor statistics of our Services.

Information we receive from other sources

Website Visitor Tracking Information

We use Google Analytics to obtain website visitor statistics of people using our Services. The data Google Analytics provides is aggregated and doesn’t include any personally identifying information.

Billing & Payment information

All your payment information is hosted and processed securely by third party payment processors, either PayPal.com or Stripe.com. We don’t store any payment information or credit cards on any of our systems.

Email Newsletter Subscription

As part of our Services we send a regular email newsletter via the third party newsletter service Mailchimp.com. Mailchimp collects certain information on your interaction with the newsletters like which links you clicked on, when you opened the newsletter.

How do we use the information we collect?

Depending on how you use our Services, which preferences you have chosen and how you communicate with us, we use your information in one or some of the following ways:

To personalise your experience

We use the information you provide to personalise our website to your preferences, for example currency settings, language settings and notification settings.

To provide our Services

In order to provide our Services we use information you provide to authenticate you when you log in, operate and maintain your website, publish and promote the information you choose on ArtWeb.com and answer your customer support questions, and operate. For example the name you give us and also the images you upload and choose to be promoted on ArtWeb.com will be visible by the public browsing ArtWeb.com.

To promote you and your ArtWork across our websites and Social Media accounts

A key part of our Service to you is the promotion of your artwork and your artist profile that you make available to the public via your website and ArtWeb.com. This includes featuring you and your artwork on ArtWeb.com, in our regular newsletters, on our blog , other websites in our network and sharing links to your website, artwork and artist profile on ArtWeb.com via our accounts on third party social media accounts including Facebook , Twitter and Pinterest .

To communicate with you about our Services

During your use of our Services and based on preferences you set you will receive certain transactional communications. For example, when visitors interact with your work on ArtWeb.com, when visitors to your website comment or send you a message via your contact form.

To protect our legal rights and business interests

We may use some of your information in order to comply with legal claims, financial audits and due diligence as part of business mergers and aquisitions.

We may use your information for purposes not listed above where you have given us specifc permission to do so, such as user testimonials.

Our Services are based on helping you to share your information with the public, via your website, ArtWeb.com and across all our Services.

Publishing your information on your website and ArtWeb

Our Service allows you to create and maintain your own website. The information and images you choose is made public on your website and/or ArtWeb

Sharing with third parties

Some of your information is share with specific third parties.

ArtWeb Newsletters

In order to personalise and manage sending you some of the newsletters as part of our Services we need to share with our third party Newsletter provider (Mailchimp) some of your information. For example your email address, Name, ArtWeb member status and the date when you originally signed up.

Social Media Sharing

Our Services include features to help you share your artwork and information with third party social media websites. For example after you have uploaded an image to your website we provide you with a link so you can easily share the image via Twitter, Facebook etc.

Website Analytics

With your consent we use Google Analytics to set a cookie in your web browser in order to collect website analytics on ArtWeb.com and the other websites in our network as part of our Services. This provides us with anonymised data about users visiting and interacting with our websites and Services, these reports contain no personally identifying information, only aggregate statistics.

Image Processing

In order provide our Services, the images you upload to your website and ArtWeb.com are processed by a third party company Blitline via their API.

Compliance with Laws, Regulation and Emergency Circumstances

In exceptional circumstances we may share information about you with third parties, in order to protect our rights; comply with laws, regulation and governmental requests; protect ArtWeb, our users and the public from harm; respond to an emergency or incident which we believe in good faith requires us to share such information to help prevent injury or death of any person.

How we store and secure information we collect

Information storage and security

We collect information from you via encrypted HTTPS connections whilst you use our Services. The information we collect is stored using data hosting providers in the UK, EU and worldwide.

The information you choose to make public via our Services e.g. the content on your website, website images and images you choose for us to publicise on ArtWeb.com is hosted on web servers in the UK and via a content delivery service with locations world wide.

Otherwise the information we collect from you that is not made public (your account information, preferences and other information we collect as specified above), is stored using data hosting provider in the UK.

How to access and control your information

All EU citizens have the following rights as part of the GDPR. We will respond to your requests to exercise these rights within a reasonable timeframe. Here’s how you can access your information based on these rights:

Right to be forgotten: You may terminate your account at any time, in which case we will permanently delete your account and all data associated with it, except for the data we are required to keep for legal/accountancy purposes.

Right to object:If you are a subscriber to our mailing list, you may opt out by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any of our mailing list communications.

Right to rectification:You may access and update your account settings and details via your website control panel and (if you’re on a Pro/Basic account) ArtWeb profile details on your ArtWeb account settings at any time to correct or complete your account information. You may also contact Artweb at any time to access, correct, amend or delete information that we hold about you.

Right of access:Our Privacy Policy (this document) describes what data we collect and how we use it. If you have specific questions about particular data, you can contact us for further information at any time.

Right of portability:You can download your original image uploads here . We will export your website as a folder of HTML data on your request.

Other Important Privacy Information

Our policy towards children

Our Services are not available to nor do we knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 16. We will deactivate accounts from and delete the information of individuals if it comes to our attention that the are under the age of 16.
