Little Road with Wild Foxgloves

A little road not made of man,
Enabled of the eye,
Accessible to thill of bee,
Or cart of butterfly.

If town it have, beyond itself,
‘T is that I cannot say;
I only sigh,—no vehicle
Bears me along that way.

Emily Dickinson

This painting was inspired by seeing wild foxgloves flowers on the side of the Ridgeway ancient road which is now used as a byway for walkers and cyclists. This stretch of the track is near Wantage in Oxfordshire. I have painted this picture with lovely soft colours of greens, pinks and mauves, using acrylic paints and texture mediums to the foreground, especially on the path and stones to give lots of depth and texture. Is sold framed in an attractive moulded wooden frame, deep green with a gold edging
