Swans take a flight

Swans fountain, by the famous theatre.

Christine Lee - Sculptor

Made for the 800th Celebration of the granting of the Charter for Market Rights by King Richard I in 1196. This fountain, made of stainless steel and brass, was opened by the Queen in November 1996.

It is positioned in The Bancroft Gardens at the lower end of Sheep Street.

This is one of my favourite water sculpture in Stratford.

I just had to capture this on canvas.

Our lady is enjoying her day out in Stratford, wondering around the park, feeding the wildlife before she meets up with her sweetheart. She looks upon the fountain, and recalls those swans surrounded her earlier in the day and now our lady also admiring the splash of the fountain.

Hope you like my interpretation of the fountain at Stratford upon Avon..
