Boathouse, Stratford upon Avon.
Established in 1898, Avon Boating is one of England’s oldest and largest traditional boating companies, offering boats for hire on one of the finest rivers in the country, the Avon at Stratford-upon-Avon.
It operates a fleet of classic Edwardian passenger vessels on regular public cruises from the Bancroft Gardens next to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and offers a variety of private cruises for groups. As long you avoid the weir oops that would be a long row back, unless you are brave and navigate down it. As we have in the pass.!
From the old boathouse on the edge of the river bank, you can continue along the river and towards the Butterfly Farm.
If you would like to simply enjoy the delights of the river and let someone else take the responsibility, you have jump aboard the cruise boat or even the indulge in the evening cruise and dinner boat.
There are walks along the river and an excellent and peaceful walk down alongside the weeping willows, over the river and around the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Our lady is off to meet her sweet heart at the boat house. She wonders to herself what his plans are here, will he suffer the light showers and take her out on the River Seven… Could there be a romantic river trip in store?.
