This artwork is made on paper with acrylic paint. I have been fascinated with warrior women for a while now, and thought to work on this a bit. There is a lot of detail into this as the shield is carved wood and then there is also the metal wolf’head. There is also an eagle an a crow at the bottom of the artwork, near her feet, to show the reference to Odin, and to Nordic mythology as well as other fairy tales. I like to work with myth and legends as there is a lot to explore there.
The red soaked floor is in memory of blood filled battlefields. the sky is a storm of colors relating to the idea of war and disaster around.
