I painted this in the wind and rain while standing in front of the former lighthousekeeper’s cottage (in which we were staying) at the western tip of the Loop Head peninsula in County Clare. The thin diagonal stripe of paint just left of the lighthouse’s door resulted from the fact that some of the paint was literally flung off the end of the paintbrush.
