The Last Ever Episode Of Z-Cars

Sometime in the 1970s a long running police series finished, and I seem to remember my parents spent the hour it was on spotting it’s past actors appearing as cameos. What I remember of Z-Cars is the theme tune and the titles in black and white which seemed to feature a lot of night driving, dazzling car headlights and the human stories behind the policing. Now the end of a series is called a season finale.

My work is driven by a fascination with the changing world, contemporary culture and the history of art. These are often mixed together in what I want to be a spontaneous blend of images rich in cultural references, I hope held together by passages of pure painting and lyrical colour in a "new representationalism"
