Two mosaic birds wall art plaque or piece of garden art which makes for a special gift for a garden lover or bird lover. This OOAK (one of a kind) mosaic plaque is a fun and unique piece of eco decoration as it is made of recycled, upcycled and repurposed materials.
Featuring two quirky birds made from a variety of stained glass off-cuts and the wings are made from a decorative bone china teapot. The bird’s legs are millefiore rods of glass which came from a skip outside a paperweight making factory in my town. The leaves are from wine bottle glass, and the branch is from a beer bottle.
The plaque is made on a reclaimed roof slate cut down to size (by me). There are two holes for hanging, and I supply the mosaic with a ribbon in place.
Makes a lovely piece of garden art, and where I live in Scotland, adds a touch of colour to the garden throughout the year. However, you can also have it indoors. They are often located in a conservatory, a patio garden, or by the front door. The colour of the slate looks great in the rain!
Many of the slates that I have sold in the past have been given as gifts, maybe for house or pet sitting, or watering the plants, or for birthdays and Christmas.
It measures 18cm high, and 25cm at its widest. Weight is 1.02 kilos (7 x 9.9 inches, 2.3 pounds)
Whilst suitable for outdoors, I cannot guarantee against severe frosts.
