Chunky Viking knit bracelet - Copper wire and Agate

By Abby Hook

Chunky Viking knit bracelet - Copper wire and Agate

Nearly 1,300 years ago, Vikings used long pieces of silver and gold wire to weave ropes. These woven wire ropes were then stretched and made into jewellery for powerful Viking leaders. This wire weaving is called Viking knit (or trichinopoly chain).

This completely handmade bracelet is made from copper wire. The Viking knit chain is finished with 2 handmade wire caps and a handmade hook clasp, with Agate stones. The bracelet measures 8” long, with a 6 3/4” inside diameter. The chain is 1/4” thick
