Cove Harbour at St Abbs Head (1098)

By Tony Lewin

Cove Harbour at St Abbs Head (1098)

This 16th century Scottish Harbour on the East Coast of Scotland, near St Abbs Head, has withstood the buffeting of the North Sea for centuries.  Originally used by smugglers who stored their goods in tunnels, it is now used by film crews in period dramas. We have visited Cove Harbour a number of times and it is a natural, unspoilt and idyllic spot to paint.
