In my eyes, women wear a mask for everything they do, whether they’re cook, bottle-washer, lovemaker, taxi driver for her children and so on.
Here is my ‘take’...
Today she wears yet another mask as she prays while taking her leap of faith to the other side…perhaps to be under the thumb of male dominance?
She strides away from the open-weaved barbed wire on the female side only to be trapped by the ‘closed’ barbed wire within confines of the male; relating to the commitments of marriage perhaps?
Will she fall into the void beneath her?
