THE CITY

An aerial view of a make-belief ‘city’ inspired by images from town layouts, maps, Google Earth.

Although the painting is completely random (almost a doodle), I wanted to employ some sense of reality - ‘3d’ buildings, streets, bridges etc., and to be as complex as possible, so the viewer will always see something new.

One of a pair.

Hippodamus was an ancient Greek, who, amongst many things, pioneered city layouts using the ‘grid plan’.
